At a Glance

This wine smells wonderful, with aromas of blackcurrants, chocolate and menthol. It balances freshness with intensity of flavour and a good tannic structure. Made from the most perfect Cabernet Sauvignon grapes we've ever seen, grown by Jeff Coutelou in southern France, and vinified in central London during our first vintage. Drink with a beautifully pink Beef Wellington, with crispy roasties and red wine jus.

Lovely pure, sweet blackcurrant fruit nose with some blackcurrant leaf. So classic and expressive. The palate is beautifully balanced ... 91/100

In Depth

Jeff Coutelou is an extremely talented winemaker and grower. His Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard is beautiful - farmed organically and surrounded by trees and other wildlife. A few years ago he decided he would only make wine from varieties indigenous to the south of France, ruling out Cabernet Sauvignon. Instead of ripping his vines up, he sold the fruit to us. Thanks to a long, warm summer the grapes ripened wonderfully with fantastic sugar levels as well as serious acid and tannin. Once back in London they were hand-sorted and de-stemmed, before being fermented and transferred to a mixture of old and new oak barrels.
