  • Nose: This wine greets you with inviting aromas of pear drops, lemon curd, and ripe apricot.

  • Mouth: On the palate, a burst of crisp, mouth watering citrus flavours unfolds, beautifully balanced by plush, juicy notes of white peach. The lively acidity adds a refreshing and invigorating lift.

  • Conclusion: 12 hours of skin contact before pressing impart a delicate blush to the colour and a long, creamy texture with a slightly pithy finish. A nuanced and textured wine.

  • Food: Fresh seafood like oysters, ceviche, and salmon, salads, and mild cheeses.

For the first time, London Cru is thrilled to release a still Pinot Gris wine from the exceptional 2023 harvest.

Pinot Gris grapes are relatively rare in England, and we are fortunate to source them from two outstanding vineyards in West Sussex. Our own Foxhole Vineyard contributed 84% of the grapes, delivering wonderfully ripe stone fruit and peachy character, while the remaining 16% came from Locksash Vineyard adding notes of pear drop character and classic Pinot Gris purity.

The grapes were carefully destemmed in the cellar and macerated for 12 hours before undergoing gentle pressing and a cool fermentation at 16°C. After fermentation the wine was then aged on lees in stainless steel tanks for 6 months, enhancing its texture and complexity before bottling.
